This week in real time:
We made it through the weekend motorcycle event that had us parked in on all sides! We hiked up to the flagpole to check out the view from above - it did not look as crowded from up there as it felt from our camper. On the last night someone even set up a tent touching our RV in what felt like the last remaingin patch of grass! But we made it through and it was crazy how quickly the space cleared out again!
With our departure date approaching, we spent most of the week doing some prep for our upcoming travels-laundry, defrosting our freezer, cooking, and thinking about packing. And, of course, enjoying having open space around us again!
On Wednesday night we took the truck down the road from our camper about 6.5 miles into the Challis National Forst. We had been itching to camp back there and found a sweet site to enjoy the fall colors and sounds of a rushing creek. I am happy to report that there were no bear encounters...which I may or may not have been worried about!
We went into town to watch the kids play their last flag football game of the season, which was special because they played on the high school field under the *Thursday* Night Lights! (They dont have school on Fridays). The mountain views were beautiful, with some rainbow action as well! We celebrated by going out for pie and ice cream afterwards.
