This week in real time:

Sorry for no newsletter last week, I was on another whirlwind hometown visit! It was hard to leave the Columbia River Gorge area's beauty! These pictures do not quite capture it! However, I was glad to leave the MOST unlevel RV site we have ever stayed in!

Last week we moved to a new campsite and enjoyed the fall colors in Vernonia, OR and on a nearby hike in Tillamook State Forest. After many days hiding indoors from the rain, it felt so nice to be back in the forest enjoying the fresh air and PNW foliage. That evening we made a very late night/early morning trip to Portland for my 5am flight. It was a very cool airport, even though nothing was open yet!

While I was away, Dylan held down the fort with the pups. Rain, it rained a lot, most of the time. Even on the kids during halloween. Fortunately there were a few breaks, enough to get the pups out for a run a couple times. But other than that, it was short potty walks and wiping paws at the door. So much rain.

PSA - Chicago Midway has a free yoga room in the airport! I was so excited to hide from the airport chaos and stretch for a bit.

The main reason for my trip home was to attend my friend Cara's wedding! However, I tried to squeeze in as many visits with family and friends as possible while I was there!

I had fun catching up with everyone, and comparing the East coast fall foliage to Oregon's. Honestly, I think the contrast of changing leaves with the pines makes the fall colors even more dramatic in the PNW! We would definitely recommend a fall trip to Oregon...as long as you don't mind the rain!

We had a great time in Frederick, MD for Cara and Shawn's wedding weekend! We got to check out downtown Frederick for wedding festivities, and enjoyed the nearby nature for a hike. The venue, food, and vibes were awesome!

Although I didn't find a yoga room on my return layover, I did find an outdoor deck in Denver! It was so nice to be reunited with my squad, Dylan and the pups, after a long weekend away! We took advantage of daylight and clear skies to enjoy some Mountain views in Portland at Council Crest Park!

After the clear day when I arrived home, the rain came back in full force! Unfortunately for us, we planned to move the RV on one of those rainy days. Although we were drenched, we successfully relocated to the Tillamook State Forest. After 48 hours of rain, the skies have started to clear enough for us to explore around our new spot!
