Hey there JDLX Travel fans!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! I finally got around to adding the last few months of travel onto our route map. Check out our up to date route! A few weeks ago we added a new post about our trip to North Cascades National Park. We're trying out a new style of blog post, let us know what you think!

This week in real time:

We had a blast exploring the wide open Off Highway Vehicle area that we were parked in! Dylan and Xirco went mountain biking most days, and Luna and I went hiking. We also hiked to different hilltops to watch sunrise and sunset a few times. The area had 360 degrees of mountain views, so we were trying to get views of different peaks.

Unfortunately while researching the incoming rain storm we determined we needed to head back to the safety of town. We were sad to leave our off-grid spot, but it seemed safer to be near other people and resources in case the rain and flooding was as bad as predicted. We moved back to our Desert Fairground RV Park to wade through the storm with lots of neighbors.

We woke up on Christmas Eve to heavy rain, and clouds blocking our mountain views :( But, it was a Christmas miracle that we had a surprisingly dry Christmas Day, with mountain views! We missed celebrating with our families, but enjoyed keeping in touch with everyone on a day full of christmas movies, puppy snuggles, and yummy food. Thanks to the pasta grannies on the internet for showing us how to cut ravioli with a plate!

We had a little rain this morning, but luckily the skies show signs of clearing and our flood watch should end at 4pm!

Thank you all for joining our newsletter email list! Feel free to reach out, we love hearing from you!

Still aboard the Christmas movies and music train for at least another week!
