Hey there JDLX Travel fans!
Happy New Year! I finally got around to adding the last few months of travel onto our route map. Check out our up to date route! A few weeks ago we added a new post about our trip to North Cascades National Park. We're trying out a new style of blog post, let us know what you think!

This week in real time:
As soon as the sun returned we drove over to our off-grid camping spot in the truck to assess the damage. It surprisingly didn't look too bad, and we enjoyed a hike with the pups to view the newly snow-capped mountains in the distance!
We had booked a week long stay at the RV park because it was discounted and the weather was unpredictable. Our stay improved greatly when our mountain views returned! Xirco was loving his (and Luna's) new toy!
Our New Year's plans got more exciting when our Idaho friends invited us to come hang out with them in Tehachapi, CA. They were celebrating the holidays with family there and suggested a nearby campground for us to park at. We had a blast catching up with our summer family, and seeing how much their kids had grown/learned in a few months! The youngest, 3 years old, captured this cute candid of us.
Our campground in Tehachapi was overlooking a beautiful lake in the valley of the mountains. We enjoyed our spot, but did encounter some strong winds overnight. You'd be surprised how much louder things like wind and rain sound when you live in a box! Despite some sleep deprivation we made it out on a hike at Tehachapi Mountain Park where we saw a lot of snow and ice! We didn't complete the hike as it was very steep and we found more rain and strong winds on our way up. The views that we got were worth it though!
We rang in the New Year with our friends, though we chose to celebrate a little bit early in the evening. Perks of being on the West Coast, you can just watch the New York ball drop whenevr you are ready! We spent the 1st recovering from another sleepless night, and making some more ravioli for Dylan's birthday! Unfortunately, we moved the trailer on Dylan's actual birthday but he didn't seem to mind. The Tehachapi campground had some awesome wood carvings including this outhouse bear at the RV Dump Station! We made the short trek back to our previous campground to prepare for some more off grid camping in the near future-what Dylan actually wanted for his bday!
Xirco has been testing out some new snuggle positions.
Thank you all for joining our newsletter email list! Feel free to reach out, we love hearing from you!
