This week in real time:
The weather prediction was not great for our last week in San Diego so we spent our last weekend trying to soak up the sun. We caught sunrise over Mission Bay and spent the morning hanging out at the park. We took turns paddle boarding on the Bay with the pups and hanging out at the truck with water views. Luna and I got super close to a pelican!
I'm not really into Valentine's Day, but Dylan and I do have a tradition of buying discounted valentine's candy a few days after!
We caught some excellent sunsets during our last few days in San Diego between the rain storms. On our last night in town, we got to try one of San Diego's best burgers with Matt and Jenn at Rocky's Crown Pub!
After a month-long stay, we felt a little rusty moving the RV again. There was also a lot of rain and wind on the forecast for our first drive day, but luckily the weather was not too bad during our drive. We made it through some treacherous traffic to Barstow, CA where we found a diner parking lot that allowed RV parking for the night. We were in for quite a shock with temperatures feeling below freezing that night!
Our second drive day was gorgeous and we had great views! We took 15 through Vegas, and a little corner of Arizona on our way to Southern Utah! We are taking the opportunity to have our friends as RV neighbors and joined them in Hurricane, UT. On our first day in Hurricane we went to a mountain biking trail right outside of St. George. Dylan had a blast mountain biking with our friends and their kids, I had a blast chasing them all on foot!
Today we checked off another National Park, we went to Zion with our friends! We hiked to see The Narrows on the Riverside Walk, which had a surprising amount of snow and ice on the trail! It ended up being a chilly hike, especially with 4 kids who got wet socks and enjoyed snowball fights along the trail! After we finished the hike we warmed up in the car and drove the Zion-Mt. Carmel tunnel where we got stunning views of the rock formations and saw a few bighorn sheep!
We don't have the next few months totally figured out, but hope to explore more cool nature around Utah, Arizona, and maybe Nevada or Colorado! Let us know if you have any recommendations, especially for hikes or unique nature we should check out!
— Jessie, Dylan, Luna and Xirco
Turns out it IS still winter, unless you're in San Diego!
