Time Capsule:

The last few months have been a whirlwind of adventure AND milestones!
February 2026 marked 2 years of full time living in the RV. We left Annapolis on 2/3/24 for Myrtle Beach, SC where we would spend the rest of winter.

February 2026 also marked 1 year since we began our journey West. On 2/15/25 we left our home away from home, Myrtle Beach, and began traveling South/West. Our first stop was this pine forest on the panhandle of Florida!

March 9th, 2026 marked one year since Xirco started traveling with us...though it took me a few days to accept that we were keeping him! If you haven't heard the full story, this cute stray dog came up to Dylan at a campground in San Antonio, TX and they became fast friends. We could not find a shelter to take him in in the area so we thought we would try again in the next city. By the time we got to Corpus Christi, TX the bond between Dylan and Xirco was inseparable. I said if Luna was on board he could stay, and the rest is history!

The last few weeks in real time:

We enjoyed amazing full moon views at our offgrid campsite in Hurricane Cliffs!

On March 3rd we watched sunrise at Zion National Park in memory of my Mom's birthday! The Canyon Overlook Trail was really fun and offered amazing views, plus a bighorn sheep sighting! Xirco also worked on conquering his fear of bridges as we hiked the dog friendly Pa'rus Trail.

Mostly we spent our days switching between being in awe of our beautiful surroundings and working. We made it a point to catch sun rise and/or sun set every day though!

After about one week in the off grid spot, we took a short drive to a nearby campground to dump our tanks and get fresh water. We were loving the views so much that we went straight back to Hurricane Cliffs! However, we did move to a new spot in the dispersed camping area.

The wind got pretty intense our second week at Hurricane Cliffs, but we made the most of it by breaking out our kites (thanks Sharon)! We also had our friends over to enjoy the awesome campsite and their kids loved flying the kites, biking around, and lizard hunting! The kids also found a dead scorpion which made me realize I should be more alert!

Unfortunately, due to our ambitious travel plans for the next month it was nearing time to leave Hurricane. We caught up on errands, like replacing our spare tire that had all of the tread worn off and stocking up at costco! We also snuck in some more fun with the Washburn's. They took us to The Grip - an American Ninja Warrior Style Gym and let us tell you...OW! All in all we had a lot of fun, though we realized our upper body strength needs some work! The only picture I took was when we almost lost Dylan to the foam pit! But for the record, we did both attempt the warped wall!

As we packed up the trailer on Thursday morning I was shocked to see a tiny scorpion crawl out from under one of our tire chocks! Cool to see, but boy was I glad to be leaving after finding one so close to our house! We had a 2-3 hour drive from Hurricane, UT to Page, UT (just across the state border from Page, AZ) filled with amazing views! We are now camped out on Lake Powell with views of Lone Rock from our windows! Seriously amazed that we get to trade one amazing view for another!

Our route for the next few weeks is still fluid but we're aiming to see Monument Valley/Valley of the Gods, Moab, and maybe sneak into Colorado near Grand Junction! Let us know if you have any recommendations!
