Time Capsule:

A year ago, we working on breaking the carsick puppy into travel life. Happy to report he has gotten way more comfortable in the truck and is way less carsick! After leaving Texas, we spent two days driving to Elephant Butte State Park in New Mexico. We were lucky to have my Aunt Jen and Uncle George meet us in New Mexico to explore, be the first family members to meet Xirco, and help celebrate our engagement! We had a great time hiking, soaking in hot springs, and giving them a taste of our RV life!

Last week in real time:

When we arrived to Moab, UT we were quickly overwhelmed by all of the cool nature activities available - hiking, dinosaur tracks, mountain biking, and rafting to name a few! Since we have been on a bit of National Park kick we decided to explore Arches National Park. We like to arrive to the parks around sunrise to beat the crowds, and boy was it worth it!

We were camping in Sand Flat Recreation Area which had a ton of hiking, biking, and 4x4 trails. We were able to hike multiple hiking trails, and some of the 4x4 trails as well! It happened to be "Jeep Safari" week in Moab so there was a steady stream of 4x4 traffic which was pretty entertaining - we couldn't believe some of the rocks they drive on!

Having these views in the campground meant we didn't end up exploring much other than Sand Flat Recreation Area.

One hike took us on some very cool "fin" rock structures, and we even had to navigate between two fins which was challenging for the dogs and I...Dylan not so much! On one of our last mornings, we hiked up the steepest looking 4x4 trail to find some dino tracks!

Unfortunately after the heatwave we had some days with rain and strong winds that kept us from exploring much for a few days. We both agree that Moab is definitely on the list to return to someday!

Next stop, Nevada!

Guess that's why they call it fin city.
