This week in real time:

Our first week in Washington has been amazing! We stayed in a lovely park near Tacoma that gave us a good taste of Washington nature. Dylan was able to reconnect with an old hockey buddy, Ben, which was super fun! We went over to his dad's house, Coach Dave, and watched NHL playoffs. The next day the guys went out and golfed!

In preparation for our friends Hailey and Jeremy to arrive in WA, we drove over to the Olympic Peninsula where we plan to meet up. After a fantastic week camping in the National Forest near the Grand Canyon we wanted to get another forest camping experience, it's also free which we love!

On Wednesday, we drove down a bumpy forest road towards some coordinates from the free camping app we use that said it was a cool spot. While very bumpy, the scenery on either side of the road was awesome! We did not anticipate that the road was going to go up a mountain...or the giant ditch that would create a bit of a pickle for us. After some resourcefulness, strategy, and muscle on Dylan's part, we made it to a nice quiet pull off on the side of the forest road. The dogs and I provided stellar moral support!

Now we're hanging out in the woods for a few days before we head back to civilization to see more of the Olympic Peninsula, and of course, hang out with Hailey and Jeremy!!

Thanks for following our journey!
