This week in real time:
We can't believe its already been 2 weeks in Idaho! Unfortunately, we're reminded how quickly summer can fly by. Still adjusting to the elevation here, we are at about 5,300 feet and change elevation most time we go for a drive or a run.
Between days of work this week we actually had a full 5 days with no guests at the ranch! This means we didn't have much work to do, and had the whole place to ourselves! We've been enjoying our giant front yard with the pups. Xirco just learned how to fetch a frisbee and is a big fan, although when Luna's got energy she doesn't let him catch it so he just chases her.
Our hosts went on a backpacking trip this week so we enjoyed an extra quiet few days just to work on getting back into some routines. We also built a new garden bed, and FINALLY planted our garden with the family. Although it seems way late in the season, we actually had snow on Sunday! Kind of crazy to see snow in late June for these Maryland kids. However, we really enjoyed seeing the snowy mountain tops that lasted for days once the snow on the ground melted. This weekend will be our first time being on duty without the family while guests are here!
What we're eating this week:
Made some
Buffalo turkey burgers this week that I can't wait to make again! I used the recipe linked here but swapped almond flour in because I didn't have breadcrumbs, and added some green onions as well! Just had to share this recipe because it was so good! Had fun cooking the burgers on the Ranch blackstone because we had no guests, decent grilling views too! (Picture taken after burgers were done.)
