This week in real time:
We have been enjoying a totally different pace of travel this week as we have unlimited water and power, and are nestled in at the Fairgrounds in the city of Puyallup-I still don't know how to pronounce this though! We can see the roller coaster, and even the top of Mount Rainier from our camper on a clear day. We took advantage of our location to walk to the farmers market where we scored some sweet Rainier Cherries! We also grabbed fresh strawberries and rhubarb which we have been loving! This week has been mostly relaxed taking advantage of our resources to meal prep and made a bunch of sourdough bread!
We did venture out to a nearby state park, Dash Point, as I had been itching to see some of the nature on the Puget Sound! The beach itself was nice, but I was super impressed by the hike we went on around the park. It ended up having a ton of hills, and was a gorgeous rainforest-esque landscape. The dogs nearly pulled our arms off sniffing everything...guess we need to work on their training some more! We found a few banana slugs-which can be up to 6-8 inches- and a silver dollar sized snail!
The biggest event of our week was getting to catch up with Will and Camilla, the other young RVers we met in Bryce Canyon! They asked if we wanted to go see the Mariners vs. Orioles game, and obviously we could not pass up that match up with our hometown team! Dylan's friend Ben and his fiance also met us at the game! We had a really fun night watching the game and catching up with everyone. We weren't rooting too hard for either team, but the O's did get a victory! Turns out baseball implemented a bunch of time limits for the games which actually made it go by pretty quickly! We are unfortunately down to our last week in Washington State before we start our journey back to Idaho for the summer, but I think we are both quite ready for the stability and routine not moving around will offer!
Thanks for following our journey!
